Description

This two-day requalification course will help first aiders broaden their skills in order to manage a range of first aid situations in the workplace.  This includes, managing an unresponsive patient, assessing an incident and being prepared for anaphylaxis, to name only a few skills.  In order to take part in this course, you must hold a QA Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work (RQF).

Who is this course for?

The QA Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work (RQF) is a regulated and nationally recognised qualification, specifically designed for those who are appointed to act as a first aider in their workplace. It is also ideal for people who have a specific responsibility to provide first aid in voluntary and community activities.

Revalidation

3 years.

Optional Annual refresher is also recommended.

Learning Objectives

  • Be able to conduct a secondary survey
  • Be able to provide first aid to a casualty with suspected injuries to bones, muscles and joints
  • Be able to provide first aid to a casualty with suspected head and spinal injuries 
  • Know how to provide first aid to a casualty with suspected chest injuries
  • Be able to administer first aid to a casualty with burns and scalds
  • Be able to administer first aid to a casualty with an eye injury
  • Know how to provide first aid to a casualty with sudden poisoning
  • Be able to administer first aid to a casualty with anaphylaxis
  • Know how to provide first aid to a casualty with suspected major illness
