During this course, Learners will build an understanding of the principles and practices of internal quality assurance within a vocational education setting. Topics include: context and principles of internal quality assurance, techniques and criteria for monitoring the quality of assessment, legal and good practice requirements for internal quality assurance of assessment and more.

Who is this course for?

The QA Level 4 Award in the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice (RQF) is intended for those who wish to work in quality assurance in a wide range of environments such as Further Education (FE) Colleges, Independent Training organisations or Local Authorities. This qualification is also suitable for those who currently work in a teaching/assessing role and wish to develop their knowledge and skills in internal quality assurance.

Prerequisites

Trainee IQAs must be at least 19 years old on the first day of the training.

Trainee IQA should hold a recognised assessing qualification, such as: 

  • D32/D33 Assess Candidates Performance/Assess Candidates Using a Different Range of Methods
  • L&D9DI/A1 Assess Candidate Performance Using a Range of Methods,
  • Level 3 Award in Assessing Competence in the Work Environment and above
