OVERVIEW: Customisation:

This Manual Handling course will provide delegates with basic knowledge and practical skills to perform a variety of manual handling tasks, including: lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling and setting-down a load. The course can be conducted at Stream Marine Training’s (SMT) training facilities at Glasgow International Airport, or on client site either onshore or offshore. The course meets the learning outcomes as dictated by the Global Wind Organisation (GWO) and is appropriate for personnel from the renewables, maritime and oil and gas sectors.

Workers and others have a right to be protected from harm caused by a failure to take reasonable control measures.

Who is it for? Prerequisites:

This course is aimed at all personnel who are likely to have to perform manual handling tasks as part of their daily work.  The course will explain: the anatomy of the spine; how to approach and prepare for a manual handling task with loads of various different weights and load sizes; and when mechanical lifting aids should be used.
