                          Who is this course for?

Stay compliant—and confident—at every security level with our STCW Designated Security Duties (DSD) Training (Table A-VI/6-2), the advanced ISPS Code course for crew who carry out specific ship-security tasks. Perfect for Ship Security Assistants, deck and engine officers, ratings with security responsibilities, hotel and catering staff on cruise ships, Ro-Pax and ferry personnel, offshore support teams, superintendents and port-facility workers, this intensive module gives you the hands-on skills to

                          • conduct security patrols and controlled access searches,

                          • screen passengers, baggage, stores and freight,

                          • recognise weapons, drugs and improvised devices,

                          • respond to breaches, piracy or cyber-security alerts,

                          • maintain CCTV, alarms and locking systems, and

                          • support the Ship Security Officer (SSO) during drills and real incidents at ISPS levels 1, 2 & 3.

Fully aligned with the 2010 Manila Amendments, MSC.428(98) cyber-risk guidelines and the latest 2025 IMO threat-pattern updates, the course blends classroom learning with realistic shipboard scenarios so you leave able to act decisively and lawfully anywhere in the world.

Why enrol? Port-state control, flag-state audits, P&I insurers and charterers all demand a current STCW Designated Security Duties certificate for anyone assigned security roles; without it you can be denied boarding, delaying sailings and jeopardising contracts. Completing this training proves you are qualified to protect passengers, crew, cargo and vessel integrity—enhancing your employability across the global fleet.
