Stream Marine Training is proud to share that Kellie McKechnie, our Head of Operations, recently took part in the UK Chamber of Shipping Employment Committee Meeting, hosted at Brodies LLP in Edinburgh following the Chamber’s annual Summer Lunch.
The meeting brought together senior stakeholders from across the UK maritime industry to discuss pressing employment issues, including seafarer welfare, minimum wage compliance, the Maritime Labour Convention, and evolving trends in training and recruitment.
Kellie’s attendance reflects SMT’s ongoing commitment to engaging with sector-wide dialogue, influencing policy, and ensuring that our training programmes remain aligned with the future of maritime employment.
“These conversations help keep our training relevant and responsive,” said Kellie.
“It’s vital we continue to support initiatives that improve working conditions for seafarers and uphold the UK’s standards of maritime excellence.”
As a trusted provider of maritime, offshore, and renewables training, SMT welcomes the opportunity to contribute to national conversations that shape employment policy, training development, and workforce wellbeing.
