    Description

    By the end of the course, delegates will be able to:

    • Understand the legislative requirements governing working at height rescue activities.
    • Recognize the importance of assigning roles and responsibilities during rescue operations.
    • Identify various rescue scenarios and the necessary planning requirements.
    • Gain knowledge of different rescue equipment and the correct pre- and post-use inspection procedures as per manufacturer recommendations.
    • Follow the correct procedures when approaching both conscious and unconscious casualties suspended at height.
    • Administer first aid to casualties suspended at height, including managing orthostatic intolerance.
    • Safely connect various types of rescue equipment.
    • Install rescue systems correctly and identify suitable attachment points while minimizing contact with abrasive surfaces.
    • Deploy and use descent rescue systems safely.
    • Deploy and use haulage rescue systems safely.
    • Safely deploy and use cable ways.
    • Conduct rescues at height using various stretchers and strops.
    • Identify potential hazards during rescue activities and implement methods to mitigate these risks.
