Each module is meticulously crafted to draw learners' attention to their individual safety responsibilities, thereby influencing their behavior and outlook toward colleagues, the facility, and the surroundings.
As for BOSIET with CA-EBS, it is structured to fulfill the initial safety and emergency response training prerequisites for individuals who are new to, or rejoining, the offshore oil and gas industry. This marine training is particularly essential for those who will receive a compressed air emergency breathing system (CA-EBS) for use during helicopter travel to offshore locations.

On successful completion of the course, delegates will be provided with an OPITO Approved certificate which is valid for 4 years.

a) Possesses a valid, unexpired Oil and Gas UK (OGUK) offshore medical certificate confirming the learner’s fitness for offshore work* OR possesses a valid, unexpired offshore medical certificate issued by a body outside of the UK which is recognised as equivalent to the OGUK medical certificate of fitness for offshore work* OR possesses a valid, unexpired, medical certificate of fitness to work at sea*, AND

There are no entry requirements.
However, if working offshore, it is expected that this programme will be taken after the OPITO approved BOSIET course so Centres can build on knowledge previously attained. However, if this is not the case then the BOSIET course will be required prior to travelling offshore and the learner will receive some reinforcement of knowledge previously gained.
There are no specific medical requirements, although personnel must have a current offshore medical certificate before being allowed to work offshore. No offshore medical certificate is required before OPITO MIST.

This course is for personnel who are appointed to, or to be appointed to, the role of an Offshore Emergency Response Team Leader. The oil and gas industry recognises that a major objective is to prevent incidents occurring, and if they do occur to control them and minimise their effect. It is important therefore to set common standards in emergency response and to ensure that they are maintained. Before personnel can be assessed against the standards they will require the knowledge and skills to enable them to carry out the emergency response tasks involved. They will require emergency response training and practice before being assessed. The purpose of this Product is to set out the basic training, further practice and assessment requirements for Offshore Emergency Response Team Leaders which will be conducted at an onshore training centre. The learner should recognise that this is only part of a broader training programme. There will also be company and installation-specific emergency response training, most of which will be conducted offshore on a regular basis as offshore drills and exercises.
On successful completion of the training programme delegates will be issued with an OPITO approved certificate and entered onto OPITO’s Central register. Validity 2 years.

Guidelines recommend that all passengers traveling to North Sea Installations should find a seat near a Push-out emergency exit window that suits their body size comfortably. This assessment can be made using a helicopter Bideltoid measurement service, commonly known as shoulder width measurement.
As part of these regulations, all helicopter passengers are kindly asked to undergo a shoulder width measurement conducted by specially trained trainers and medics. If a passenger's shoulder width exceeds 55.9cm (22 inches), they will be considered extra broad (XBR) and are encouraged to sit in a helicopter seat next to a window that accommodates their shoulder size.
For passengers with a shoulder width of 55.9cm or less, they will be classified as regular.
Once completed, candidates will be issued with a Shoulder Width Measurement certificate.

Once completed, candidates will be awarded with the SMT Marine Evacuation System Certificate.
