At Stream Marine Training, we’ve always pushed the boundaries of safety and survival training. Now, we’re proud to announce a bold new chapter in our evolution — one that goes beyond offshore. We’ve officially partnered with the Galactic Maritime Authority (GMA) and the North Atlantic Space Integration Agency (NASIA) to deliver the UK’s first Space Marine Training Programme, launching this summer. The project, dubbed Operation Gullible Horizon, is set to place the UK at the forefront of orbital emergency preparedness.
This new course will equip professionals with the skills needed to operate safely in extreme orbital environments, including emergency re-entry protocols, zero-gravity fire response, and EVA (extravehicular activity) safety. Modules will also explore crucial scenarios such as alien contact etiquette, vacuum-sealed sandwich preparation, and comms failures due to Mercury in retrograde. Developed in consultation with leading space safety engineers (many of whom previously worked on the Mars “thing” in 1997), the programme will be accredited under the newly established G-STCW (Galactic Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping).
Delegates will benefit from hands-on simulation using Stream Marine’s modified HUET pool — now adapted to replicate microgravity immersion drills — as well as advanced navigation modules powered by retro-fitted Tamagotchis and test pilots with basic GCSE Astronomy. NASIA has described the partnership as “a pivotal step in aligning marine-grade safety with future space operations” and confirmed they are reviewing options for lifeboat drills on the moon as part of Phase 2.
And while we’re incredibly excited about the future of interstellar safety… we’re even more excited about the present: Happy April Fools’ Day from the team at Stream Marine Training. We’re still your go-to for industry-leading maritime, offshore and renewables training — just not in space… yet.
