Description

The STCW Proficiency in Maritime Security Awareness course is set up to offer crew on board merchant ships, who are not assigned security duties, with the essential awareness needed. This course ensures that delegates will leave with the knowledge, understanding and proficiency requirements that are set out in the STCW code. This is mandatory training that must be done by all seafarers that’s role requires them to comply with the ISPS code. The STCW certificate will be awarded following a short exam. 

  • The ISPS Code 

  • Recognise security threats 

  • Maritime security definitions 

  • Security roles and responsibilities 

  • Company and ship security requirements 

  • Security threat levels 

  • Security measures and procedures 

Prerequisites

  1. Photographic ID (A Government issued, photographic proof of identity on the day of the course and this should take the form of either a valid Passport or a driving license or a valid discharge book).

Certification

Successful candidates will be awarded with the MCA approved STCW Proficiency in Maritime Security Awareness certificate, following a short exam.

The STCW 2010 BASIC Training in Oil & Chemical Tanker Cargo Operations course focuses on the understanding of function and competence on board an oil and chemical tanker vessel. Seafarers will be able to; take hazard precautions, apply occupational health and safety precautions and measures, carry out firefighting operations, respond to emergencies and take precautions to prevent pollution of the environment from the release of oil and chemicals tankers.
